Have you always wanted to learn about sculpting, but were too intimidated? Sit in this workshop to get some basic instruction on how to get started and some hands-on experience to build up your confidence. Materials will be provided so just grab a seat and let your creativity go wild.

Are you dissatisfied with the educational comics available on the market? Think you can do better? Join veteran middle school math teacher and Solution Squad creator Jim McClain, winner of the 2014 Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship, as he walks you step-by-step through the process by which you can make educational comics to suit your needs. He will break it down by financial cost as well as the investment of time required to make the comics that teachers will want to use in the classroom. This will range from mini-comics that you can make with a long stapler and an ordinary copier to the full-color kind made with offset printing. He'll cover it all!

This panel will be held in the workshop room so attendees have a surface to use and take notes.

Small Press Publishing and Promotion

Your project is ready to print, but now what? Seasoned indie creators will talk about their various experiences publishing their own books. Get tips on how to pick a printer, methods of selling and promoting your books, and pitfalls you should avoid. There will also be time set aside for questions and answers.
